About the Role
Fantastic opportunity for an experienced estimator to join Bay Building Group. This is an integral role within the Bay Building Major Projects & Loss Adjusting and Commercial division and is required to estimate and deliver accurate budgets, quotes and cost estimates for medium to large insurance claims & tenders across both residential and commercial projects.
Duties and responsibilities;
- Attend site to inspect, accurately assess and report on causation
- Prepare detailed scopes of work, clearly defining repair requirements and methods, ensuring compliance with state legislation and manufacturer specifications.
- Compile and deliver accurate budget breakdowns and costings.
- Liaise with contractors/suppliers to assist with preparing high level cost breakdowns and detailed repair structures.
- Work with the delivery team to prepare high level tender packages including construction schedules for submissions
- Have a detailed understanding and experience in the construction process, critical inspection points, permit requirements and WHS requirements
Skills and experience;
- Proven skills in construction estimating for domestic and commercial properties
- Ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously with conflicting priorities
- Experience working directly with clients, building consultants and trades/suppliers
- High level of strong verbal and written communication
- Thorough understanding of the construction process from concept to handover and WHS requirements
- Ability to interpret plans, tender documents, specialist reports and engineers’ drawings.
- Understanding of relevant Building codes and Australian standards.
- Due to our business being heavily weather related and linked closely to major insurable events, overtime is occasionally required.
