We are currently looking for switched on people to provide lifestyle support for an active professional Autistic person living with early onset dementia in the following roles:

  • Personal Assistant/Key worker: full time equivalent hours across an 8 week roster. Must be reliable, efficient, organised, excellent communicator, solution-focused and able to follow record keeping processes. This is a fulltime role assisting me with all aspects of running my life and my home including managing my diary and appointments, appointments with tradespeople, rostering with my support team, record keeping (tracking tasks, notes from meetings etc), implementing and tracking recommendations from my therapists

  • Support worker: full time equivalent hours across an 8 week roster. Must be flexible, confident and calm in a storm, able to leave your ego at the door and listen deeply and see me through my disabilities, MUST be committed to my right to be supported in the way I choose to be supported. I am looking for someone who can be enthused by my goals and in encouraging me and helping me to achieve them!

  • Cleaner/Housekeeper : 4 hours per day - must have an exceptional eye for detail, must be motivated and able to precisely follow instructions

You MUST have proven experience working with Autistic adults, people with psychosocial disability and/or people with dementia

You MUST be able to closely follow instructions and help me to rebuild a routine

You MUST have great initiative, curiosity, resilience and creativity

You MUST be committed to my human rights

You MUST be respectful of my right to live my life the way I choose, with support provided the way I choose

You MUST have a deep understanding and commitment to self-directed support

MUST be available to work across all shifts on a rotating 24/7 roster

  • proven experience working with Autistic adults, people with psychosocial disability and/or people with dementia

  • genuine skills and commitment to promoting autonomy, self-direction, choice and control of the people we support

  • proven willingness and commitment to working as part of a harmonious, dynamic and diverse team

  • ability to project calm, positivity, confidence and ability to take command and direct to calm in highly stressful situations

  • inner strength, resilience and self-awareness

  • demonstrated ability to reflect on personal practice and take on feedback

  • common sense, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to think outside the box and to try new things

  • highly developed skills in communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, facilitation and managing change

  • capacity to work with minimal direction and supervision and to take initiative

  • active participation in required induction, training, development, supervision and performance reviews

Highly desirable skills and qualities:

  • skills and ability to provide emotional support, communication and problem solving

  • experience working in residential settings

  • sports and fitness skills to at least an average level

  • background in coaching highly considered

Must have:

  • current drivers license

  • your own insured and registered vehicle and willingness to provide transport

  • current NDIS Worker Screening Check and/or National Police Check

  • current First Aid/CPR certificate

  • completion of NDIS worker training modules

  • thorough working knowledge and commitment to NDIS Code of Conduct
