About us
Blossoming Kids is a private child & family mental health practice located in Ashmore, QLD. We currently offer Play Therapy and Psychological Therapy/Assessment, and have a view to expand our team and our services. Our vision is to provide holistic mental health support to children, young people and their families in fun and engaging ways. We are passionate about early intervention and creating positive outcomes for children and their families. We are a well-established business with a small close-knit team, and are looking for people to help us grow our clinic. We are offering full admin support and we have existing referral pathways in place. Our clinic has full disability access, is quiet and peaceful, we have a welcoming waiting area for parents and it’s fun for the kids! We are well known on the Gold Coast for offering age-appropriate Paediatric therapies. We are a mixed-billing practice, with a split of NDIS, full fee and Medicare referrals, and a range of presenting referral concerns.
Note: Some of our most common referral concerns are around emotional awareness and regulation, confidence and self esteem, social skill development, anxiety, trauma, coping tools/strategies, neurodivergence and ADHD assessments. Our most common age range for therapy and assessment is 6-16. A lot of our work is with parents and carers alongside the child’s therapy and we have a big focus on early intervention. The role includes:
- Conducting individual Psychology sessions with children and adolescents predominantly, along with some adults
- Creating goal/treatment plans and regularly reviewing treatment goals
- Conducting diagnostic assessments, e.g ADHD assessments across the lifespan
- Conducting work with parents/carers alongside a child's therapy
- Some group work and outreach work
- Liaising with stakeholders, e.g schools, other allied health professionals, GP's etc, attending stakeholder meetings
- Administration tasks such as case-noting, report-writing, email/phone contact, strong time management skills required
Essential skills & experience:
- Experience working holistically and utilising evidence-based practices with children, teenagers and their families
- Experience offering parent support/education alongside a child's therapy
- Experience in assessments, e.g Conners & ADOS will be highly regarded
- Medicare registration (or eligibility)
- Registration with appropriate governing body (AASW/AHPRA)
- Experience working with NDIS participants
- Experience utilising trauma-informed practice
- Confidence working in age-appropriate, fun and engaging ways with children & teens
- Blue card & relevant insurances
- Experience in Play Therapy or other expressive therapies will be highly regarded
