As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping participants work towards their goals, gain confidence and live with more independence. You’ll work closely with participants and their families to create a safe and empowering environment that supports autonomy, community access, emotional wellbeing and skill building.

Qualifications and experience

  • Relevant qualification in Disability Support, Mental Health or a related field

  • Experience working with people with psychosocial disabilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Confident in problem solving and decision making

  • Current First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check

  • Solid reading and writing skills in English

  • Experience in the industry is essential

  • Must be reliable with strong ethics and values

  • A kind, caring and professional attitude is a must

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Provide personalised support with daily living tasks and self-care

  • Support participants to access community events, appointments and activities

  • Keep accurate records of participant progress and report any changes or concerns

  • Follow Care Compass policies and NDIS standards

  • Create safe, supportive and empowering environments where participants can thrive and feel inspired each day
