To support the exciting growth of our Allied Health and Clinical Services team, we have an opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant (AHA).

Reporting to the Team Leader – Allied Health Care, you will enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of Allied Health services to our Gympie community age care customers.

The role is available as a permanent part-time or full-time position (Monday to Friday). There is flexibility with fortnightly hours, and we invite you to outline your preference in your cover letter.

More about the role

Under direction or supervision, you will:

  • Be involved in delivering therapeutic individual or group programs

  • Assist in the preparation for group programs and supervision of customers

  • Provide general support to the Allied Health team including compilation of clinical and program materials and collection and maintenance of equipment

  • Assist in the preparation of assessment, treatment, and clinical processes for customers

  • Work collaboratively with customers in their homes as they progress to meet their goals

  • Work independent and safely within the scope of AHA practice whilst being confident to refer customers back to the treating therapist when applicable

What you will bring to our team

  • A Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance

  • Experience in safely delivering massage therapy services, preferably to frail/aged customers, and supported by a massage therapy qualification (or working towards such qualification)

  • The ability to work in a variety of community settings including with culturally diverse families

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills including active listening skills, the ability to establish rapport and maintain positive professional relationships

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, being task-oriented, non-judgmental, and have a clear sense of professional boundaries

  • Effective time management skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • High level computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management

  • Valid Driver’s Licence and willingness to use own insured vehicle for work purposes, and First Aid and CPR certificates
