This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.
This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range

About the Role:
As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities care and support to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.
You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.
As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will not be required to perform any task or repairs that would normally require the services of a qualified tradesperson.
The position reports directly to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.
You will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Demonstrated ability to maintain Facilities.
- Ability to conduct minor repairs and maintenance to Grounds and Facilities (except jobs that require a qualified tradesperson).
- Assist with clearing and hosing of drains and gutters and waste management.
- Capability to perform activities consistent with workplace, health and safety guidelines.
- Ability to liaise with various internal and external personnel (e.g. tradespersons) on a variety of repair and maintenance issues.
- Responsible for a range of activities required by administration team, including management of deliveries to the school, deposit of school funds to the bank, preparing classrooms for examinations and preparing assembly halls including moving/arranging furniture and seating; removing and relocating furniture from room to room, maintain various registers and stocktaking and recording/engraving of school equipment/furniture and assets.
- Oversee maintenance of school ovals through mowing, watering and soil maintenance and grounds care.
- Work in a team with the Schools Officer, Facilities.
