Based in Ballarat, 61 Design is an innovative graphic design, print, web and marketing company. We’ve been creating since 1974, and since then we’ve developed relationships with some of Australia’s leading brands. We pride ourselves on our flexibility, professionalism and ‘get it done’ attitude — it’s the reason we’ve grown to be one of Ballarat’s largest agencies.

The Role:

We’re looking for a talented Graphic Designer to join the 61 team, bringing creative vision and technical expertise to deliver compelling design solutions. You’ll play a key role in crafting high-impact visuals across a wide range of products and activities, including primarily designing for print & digital, video, and motion graphics, as well as various other projects (eg, branding and websites) ensuring creative and strategic alignment with client objectives.

Working closely with clients and account managers, you’ll take briefs and transform them into engaging concepts, selecting the right media and style to effectively communicate each message. Whether the project is local, national, or global, your creativity will shape brands and storytelling across multiple platforms.

You will be pushed and learn new skills, but ultimately, you’ll produce work that will surprise even you, all while having a laugh. You’ll be surrounded by an amazing team of skilled, like-minded creatives, and work with a varied range of brands and businesses.

The position is part-time 22.5 hours (3 days) per week with a 6-month trial period. Office hours are 8am to 4pm, with some flexibility available.

The Ideal Applicant:

  • 3 years + of design experience

  • Proven ability to develop innovative graphic, motion/video and print designs that align with client objectives

  • Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills

  • Strong creative flair and a keen eye for detail

  • Has experience working on and managing multiple projects, clients and priorities at one time, while planning for future projects

  • Can effectively work within a team

  • Proven experience editing and animating for video

  • Has experience with the Adobe Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier and AfterEffects

  • A thirst to continue to develop and grow

  • The ability to handle a fast-paced environment with strong time management skills
