PQE Partners are partnering with a high-profile property development client seeking a Legal Counsel to join their close-knit legal team. Key Responsibilities
As Legal Counsel, you will act as a key advisor to the business, supporting commercial transactions and risk management across a range of areas, including:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of contracts relating to construction, real estate development, project funding and joint ventures
- Advising on development finance, including lending arrangements, securities and funding structures
- Supporting deal execution – helping to structure deals, manage risks, and facilitate settlements
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and liaising with external counsel
- Providing advice on commercial disputes, primarily pre-litigation and risk mitigation
- Supporting corporate compliance, governance, and legal documentation processes
You will ideally have:
- 3–5 years’ PQE, admitted to practise in NSW
- Previous in-house experience at a property developer or construction company is highly regarded
- Alternatively, experience gained in private practice in construction law, real estate development, or development finance
- A strong commercial mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities across complex transactions
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and an interest in how legal advice supports commercial outcomes
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, collaborative working style
