About the role

As our Female Therapeutic Caseworker & Group Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in providing support and advocacy for partners and family members affected by users of violence who are participating in the Men’s Behaviour Change (MBC) program. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, your focus will be on delivering high-quality therapeutic casework, supporting victim-survivors of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV), and contributing to the development and delivery of our Family Safety Program. You'll:

  • Deliver therapeutic casework and advocacy for victim-survivors impacted by violence, ensuring their safety and wellbeing
  • Supervise and mentor victim-survivor advocacy program staff to build a strong, supportive team
  • Provide clinical practice leadership in collaboration with the Team Leader, Manager and Practice Specialist
  • Coordinate referrals, engage with the community, and support clients through case management and case coordination.
  • Facilitate groupwork programs face-to-face, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment
  • Apply person-centered, trauma-informed, and strength-based approaches to your work
  • Maintain accurate, confidential client records and ensure compliance with RANSW policies and legislative requirements
  • Develop safety plans, assess risks to victims and children, and provide relevant referrals to services such as counselling or family therapy
The details
  • Part-time contract until 30.06.2026
  • 3 days per week, based in Wollongong
  • $46 - $52 per hour (depending on skills and experience) + 11.5% super + 17.5% leave loading and tax-free salary packaging up to $15,900. (Increase your take home pay. Calculate Your Savings at https://www.salary.com.au/calculate-your-savings)
  • This is an identified position. Being female is a genuine occupational requirement of this position under s31 of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977
What you’ll bring
  • Graduate qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline
  • A 3+ years’ experience working with families impacted by DFV, including casework with individuals and families
  • Expertise in providing therapeutic interventions using trauma-informed, person-centred, and strengths-based frameworks
  • Experience working with women and children who are victim-survivors of DFV
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills, including mentoring or supervising less experienced staff
  • Experience facilitating group programs (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of the long-term impact of DFV on families, including children.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills and ability to build trust and rapport quickly
  • Competence with IT systems, including databases and Microsoft Office
  • Relevant training or willingness to complete qualifications in Men’s Behaviour Change practice (desirable)
