About the role:
As a Carer Recruitment Senior Practitioner , you will be responsible for the recruitment process of prospective foster carers with regard to recruiting, assessing and training them, whilst delivering excellent customer service at all times. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining recruitment and marketing strategies, and to lead the delivery of an effective carer recruitment strategy through coordinating carer assessment processes and undertaking a range of marketing activities in consultation with the Recruitment & Panel Manager.
As part of the retention and operations team you will ensure an efficient, consistent process that embeds a positive carer experience at every step of the carer journey.
- Qualifications - You will hold a recognised professional qualification in Social Work or relevant field. Overseas qualifications must be validated or recognised by the AASW. Those holding a non-social work qualification are welcome to apply, please see the position description.
- Experience - You will have experience working in a Child and Family social work setting and/or significant experience working in the field of foster care. Those with experience of assessments in a range of capacities will be highly regarded. We would also welcome applicants from a training background.
- Knowledge - You will demonstrate an understanding of assessment, safeguarding and risk through relevant Child Protection Legislation and Government initiatives and Agendas across South Australia. You will also have/or be willing to work towards an understanding of marketing and recruitment strategies.
- Licence/Checks - Hold a paid WWCC or be willing to obtain & Clear full South Australia drivers’ license.
The base salary for this position is $97,377.80 - $101,787.92 per annum + super + vehicle & fuel card + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.
This position is a full-time, ongoing opportunity.

To be successful in this role, you’ll come with:
- Social Work, Psychology or other relevant recognised Qualifications
- Experience working in foster care, or other relevant family/ community service-based environments
- Experience with assessment and an understanding of practical application of customer database
- Tenacity, diligence and resilience - with the ability to adopt a creative approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
