Band 5 - Salary Range $78,646 to $90,563 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO

The Opportunity
Our mission is to deliver civil infrastructure for the benefit of communities in our fast-growing municipality. This role supports that goal by ensuring Council’s Capital Works civil programs and projects are delivered in accordance with Council specifications and standards.
- The Graduate Engineer will rotate through the Engineering & Asset Services, Capital Projects, Engineering Development and the Operations Departments and will report to the Coordinators within these teams;
- Will liaise with Staff, Residents, Consultants, Contractors and other Authorities;
- Will work in a team environment, being mentored, learning and applying skills as they start their career as a Civil Engineer in Local Government.
Key Responsibilities
- To undertake the Graduate Engineer work plan within each of the business units that includes achieving set learning within the following fields.
- Respond positively and punctually within specified timelines to customer enquiries and requests and adhere to the performance standards adopted in the Customer Service Charter.
- Undertake and assist with traffic management submissions and issues; and general engineering investigations and drafting of drawings of minor civil projects using CAD.
- Process engineering drawings for staged subdivision developments in accordance with Council requirements, the Subdivision Act and other statutory regulations.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or current enrolment in Civil Engineering Course. Eligibility for membership with the Institute of Engineers of Australia, is the minimum qualification requirement.
- Experience in various computer software packages including Microsoft office and CAD.
- Communicate technical matters clearly and concisely, in writing and orally, with a diverse range of people.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
