About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technical Officer (TGO 1) to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, multi-disciplinary pathology services in a regional laboratory setting . In this role, you will apply your technical expertise and experience to perform a variety of laboratory activities, ensuring accurate and efficient pathology services. You will work both independently and as part of a team, following standardised practices and procedures while maintaining high professional standards.

As a Technical Officer , you will also have the opportunity to participate in technical project work , applying your knowledge and skills to support innovation and continuous improvement within the laboratory. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for laboratory science, seeking to develop expertise in pathology and contribute to essential healthcare services .

About You

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technical Officer to support high-quality pathology services in a regional laboratory. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong Technical & Laboratory Skills – Demonstrated technical expertise in laboratory science, with experience in analytical methodologies and handling laboratory equipment.

  • Pathology & Data Entry Experience – Previous experience working in a pathology laboratory , with proficiency in data entry to ensure accuracy and efficiency in laboratory operations.

  • Effective Communication & Teamwork – Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals , contributing to a collaborative and professional laboratory environment .

  • Knowledge of Laboratory Standards & Compliance – Understanding of laboratory principles, accreditation requirements, Work Health & Safety (WHS) regulations, and privacy legislation relevant to pathology services.
