Primary objective
Under the direction of the Executive Manager Food Services provide a high standard of service to staff and clients of the
Alice Springs Hospital (ASH) Kiosk including preparing, cooking and serving meals while adhering to Hazard Analytical Critical
Control Point (HACCP) Food Safe practices.
Context statement
ASH Kiosk works within Food Services department and provides food services in accordance with the Northern Territory
(NT) Health Department Health Facilities Healthy Food and Drinks Policy.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Undertake Food Services duties including; food preparation, cleaning, stock control and espresso coffee making
2. Provide excellent customer service and cash handling in a fast-paced multi tasked environment.
3. Adhere to Hazard Analytical Critical Control Point (HACCP) Food Safe practices or similar.
4. Ability to work all duty shifts according to a rotating roster or as necessary.
5. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary teamwork practices and role modelling behaviour.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in the food service industry with a sound working knowledge of HACCP Food Safe practices
or similar.
2. Demonstrated initiative, reliability and punctuality, to work as an effective team member with excellent customer service
skills.
3. Demonstrated understanding of hygiene and infection control practices, and WHS principles.
4. Demonstrated physical ability to perform multi tasked duties in a fast-paced environment.
5. Demonstrated organisation and effectively managing multiple demands to meet readiness in a fast paced environment.
6. Preparedness and capacity to work shift work over a seven-day roster with shifts commencing as per roster cycle.
7. Demonstrated ability to follow defined work schedules with good time management skills to support production and
organisational needs.
Desirable
1. Experience in short order cooking
