The Role
CLC is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Program Coordinator – Student Services Manager (Known at Coastal Lakes College as - Manager of Positive Support) overseeing Year 7 to Year 12 to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly effective leader and reflective individual to join our leadership team and work in collaboration with the other Manager of Positive Support to the Positive Support Team.
In collaboration with the Principal and members of the administrative team, the Program Coordinator provides educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision and encouraging school staff, volunteers from the community and others to share ownership of the school’s vision and goals.
The successful applicant should display high-level of interpersonal and organisational skills, be flexible, dynamic and solutions focused. This will ideally ensure they thrive in the demands of a fast-paced and satisfying Positive Support environment.
You will ideally promote positive relationships between students, staff, parents and the local community as you strategically build, develop and lead a Positive Support team to ensure a whole college approach to positive support by all staff. You will ideally effectively negotiate, build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels as we develop our vibrant and innovative college focused on the academic, social and emotional success of all students. A commitment to the college’s emphasis on pastoral care and co-curricular programs such as Zones of Regulation and You Can Do You will ideally display active promotion of the college’s vision, motto and values within the college and the wider community.
The successful applicant should have a high level of understanding of the case management of students (Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3) that includes knowledge of effective intervention, monitoring and reporting strategies. In performing this role, you ideally would possess the ability to provide direction and purpose to staff, build team capacity and cohesion and promote an environment of positive quality learning experiences for all students across the college.
The successful applicant will ideally have knowledge, skills and experience of senior school curriculum, pathways and tracking of student academic progress towards Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) achievement.
In-conjunction with the other Manager of Positive Support, and in collaboration with the Manager of Inclusion and HoLAs, continue to work together and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students, focusing on the development of the whole child. The successful applicant will ideally be passionate about delivering outstanding leadership in the area of student engagement, pastoral care and wellbeing.
The Responsibilities -
Provide strategic leadership of the Positive Support Team and plan, implement and review strategies identified to drive improvement in alignment with the college Business Plan; Promote an inclusive and positive approach philosophy and practice within Coastal Lakes College; Provide leadership and contribute to the line management of support staff within Student Services and across the college; Facilitate professional learning for school staff to ensure that the learning environment in classrooms can be accessed by all students; Assist in the transition of students from primary school to a secondary context at a cohort, group and individual student level; Facilitate interagency links to maximise support for students requiring support or targeted intervention; Reflect on and revise systems, policy and initiatives to support the pastoral care, behavioural and mental health needs of students as the College continues to grow. Have a proactive and strategic approach to leading preventative initiatives college wide that promotes student engagement, wellbeing and supports a positive college culture. Facilitate parent links and parent’s participation to enhance positive educational outcomes for students; and Maintain effective case management and attendance systems across the college;
