We are in the market for a self-motivated and experienced individual who can undertake and lead the installation and maintenance of the City’s traffic signs, bollards, handrails, banners and all other signage and traffic devices as required in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner, and to agreed quality standards.

What impact will you make?

  • You like to work as part of a team, under the direction of the Team Leader, in all aspects of traffic maintenance, including:
    • Installation and maintenance of traffic signs, bollards, handrails, banners and other signage and traffic devices
    • Sign manufacturing, maintenance and repairs
    • Assisting with minor line marking install and maintenance
    • Providing technical advice and support when required
    • Assisting with the preparation of costing information
  • You can efficiently control vehicular and pedestrian traffic at, and around worksites
  • You are friendly and will respond to customer enquiries (in the field) in a professional and courteous manner.

What can you bring to the team?

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction or previous relevant experience in a traffic and/or sign maintenance environment
  • Current unrestricted MR (Medium Rigid) class national driver’s licence
  • Current White Card
  • Current Basic Worksite Traffic Management
  • Current Basic First Aid Certificate
  • Current Elevated Work Platform EWP Ticket
  • Current Forklift FLT Ticket
  • Current Working and Heights Certificate
  • Considerable experience within a general handy maintenance role
  • Be competent in the use of concrete cutters, jackhammers, plate compactor, line marking plant, general hand tools and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications
  • Working knowledge of Australian Standards on manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (AS1742) and Main Roads WA Act
  • Ability to work under general direction
  • Ability to prioritise workflows
  • Good verbal and written literacy, interpersonal skills and numerical skills
  • Flexible approach and preparedness to perform all aspects of traffic and sign maintenance
  • As part of our recruitment process, you will be required to participate in a full pre-employment medical that includes drug and alcohol testing.

The finer details

This full time OSE 3 position attracts a salary range of $72,795 - $75,503 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience. Applicants must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.
