One of the largest gold producers in Australia, you will join a diverse team and have the opportunity to advance your career with an innovative company dedicated to safety, environmental management, inclusion and diversity.Newmont Boddington is progressing with plans for construction of a new tailings’ storage facility. This will expand the current monitoring requirements for Boddington through the construction, commissioning and operational phases. The site is seeking an Environmental Technician to initially learn the environmental monitoring processes expected at site and to extend this knowledge during the construction phase of RDA2 to ensure Newmont complies with regulations and internal standards. Responsibilities will include noise, air quality, surface and groundwater monitoring, inclusive of establishing monitoring sites. Supervision of contractors and consultants undertaking works on site will also be required. About youIdeally you will have knowledge of environmental monitoring best practice, sampling techniques, standards, statutory environmental obligations, processes and systems.
You will be flexible in your approach in undertaking work routines and able to work effectively and contribute to the team dynamic. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred. Boddington Gold Mine is in the SW region of WA and experiences diverse seasonal weather patterns with hot summers and wet and cold winters. An ability to work outdoors in all-weather conditions is required. A Current Drivers Licence and the ability to drive a manual 4WD vehicle is essential.
