The Shire of Exmouth is a vibrant and thriving community located in the stunning north-west region of WA. We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Property and Leasing Officer to join our corporate and commercial services team on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Manager Finance, the Property and Leasing Officer is primarily responsible for the effective and efficient management of all records and actions required to manage the Shire’s property lease and licence portfolio, including commercial, residential, and community property leases, licences, and MoU’s. This role must ensure all property dealings are carried out in accordance with relevant legislations while optimising property utilisation and benefit to the Shire and community.

In this role, you will ensure all leasing, hiring, and licencing activities are managed efficiently and professionally including, but not limited to, the compilation of Shire reports, issuance of public notices, and undertaking an ‘Expression of Interest’ or tender process where required. The Property and Leasing officer will be responsible for maintaining the Shire’s property management systems, including a property register and lease and licence registers in accordance with statutory requirements and Shire policies and procedures. You will manage the preparation, lodgment, and registration of land acquisition, land transfers, land searches, land sales, and all land dealings. The property and Leasing Officer will provide advice on lease and licence exit strategies, including coordination of end-of-lease inspections, ensuring re-instatement works are completed, utilities and services updated, and monies recouped.

To successfully fulfil the requirements of this role, you will have demonstrated property management experience in leasing or a related field, including preparation and management of leases and licences, and have the ability to create, read, and explain complex legal agreements. Ideally, you will have experience working in a Local Government environment and business administration with good attention to detail. It would be desirable to have knowledge of relevant Local Government acts and regulations, residential acts, and other relevant legislations.

The position is classified as Level 7 under the Shire of Exmouth Enterprise Agreement 2017, with a base salary of $76,750 per annum.

Benefits – This role comes with the following benefits;Up to 21.5% superannuation (includes a co-contribution by you), eligibility for long service leave, $5,000 housing allowance, $1,955 location allowance, uniform allowance, employee assistance program and other wellbeing services, regular RDO’s, and 5-weeks of annual leave.
