About Our Client:

Rio Tinto operates the worlds largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. These assets include a world-class, integrated network of 15 iron ore mines, four port facilities, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure. Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.

About the Role
Join Rio Tintos pioneering team at the state-of-the-art Gudai-Darri mine site, where innovation, collaboration, and safety are at the forefront of operations. We are seeking motivated and safety-conscious Blast Crew Operators to support our Drill and Blast team in achieving operational excellence.

This role offers a family-friendly roster with 8 days on, 6 days off, followed by 7 nights on, 7 off, ensuring optimal work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely execute blast preparation tasks, including stemming, priming, and loading blast holes.
  • Operate MPU units for ANFO and pumpable products.
  • Maintain compliance with explosive handling regulations and ensure proper housekeeping of magazines and vehicles.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet productivity targets while adhering to safety standards.

What Youll Bring

  • A strong commitment to safety as the top priority.
  • Experience in open-pit mining environments or similar roles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Tickets and Licences

  • Valid Australian C Class manual drivers license (or higher).
  • Dangerous Goods Security Card
