About the role

We are seeking expressions of interest for a Specialist Productivity to support the Principal Advisor Productivity in defining leading practices, deploying improvement projects, and providing site support to achieve our Best Operator aspirations.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor Productivity within the RTIO Improvement Division, you will work closely with subject matter specialists, advisors, and contractors in areas such as asset management productivity, conveyor productivity, cost productivity, spares management, and labour productivity.

Your role will involve supporting the team, building and maintaining critical relationships, and driving the adoption of leading practices and problem-solving mindsets.

This will aim to deliver value to the business while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in Perth and on-site.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting the Principal Advisor Productivity in building and maintaining strong leadership relationships with internal stakeholders and external technical specialists.

  • Foster an inclusive culture through collaboration with peers across the broader Improvement, Site, and Maintenance Planning & Engineering (MP&E) teams.

  • Active participation in a team of FTEs and project contractors.

  • Support key improvement programs, including Asset management productivity, Conveyor unscheduled loss improvement, Cost Productivity and Parts Management.

  • Assist in maintaining and delivering project reports, schedules, and budgets.

  • Support capital submissions and cost management efforts.

  • Identify and endorse new cost productivity opportunities.

  • Assist sites in achieving 2025 productivity and SPS maturity targets.

  • Provide guidance to RTIO Procurement, MP&E, and People teams for alignment on strategy and contracts.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and highly effective communication skills.

  • Existing strong networks within internal RTIO stakeholders – FXP/HME/MEM and Finance highly regarded.

  • Understanding of Asset Management (Including hydrocarbons management, defect elimination, work management, and shutdown management) highly regarded

  • High level of experience or understanding of FXP/ HME maintenance – HME Trade / Engineering / Planning background highly regarded.

  • High level of financial acumen and project management experience.

  • Ability to influence change and drive leading practices with site leadership.

  • Understanding of SPS practices.

Where you will be working

This role offers a Monday to Friday roster and based at Rio Tinto’s Perth head office at the Central Park building. The role also offers opportunities to work in our Integrated Operations Centre, near the Perth airport. Ad hoc travel to our Pilbara Mine sites is required for this role.
