Locum Clinical Coder Opportunity - Gold Coast, Starting May 2025
Are you an experienced Clinical Coder looking for your next adventure? A leading private hospital in the Gold Coast is offering a locum on-site assignment from May 2025 onwards, lasting 3-6 weeks, with the potential for extensions.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 5+ years of coding experience, ideally with complex casemix.
- Private hospital experience is advantageous.
- Experience using Meditech is also desired but not essential
Requirements:
To be considered for the role, candidates must have:
- Clinical Coding qualifications from the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) or equivalent, or a Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management).
- Sound and updated knowledge of ICD-10-AM 12th Edition.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical science.
- Good analytic and abstracting skills.
- Membership with HIMAA.
- Valid right to work in Australia
Key Responsibilities:
- Assigning accurate and timely clinical codes through analysis using ICD-10-AM, 12th Edition.
- Managing complex casemix coding with precision.
- Building strong relationships with clinicians and staff to improve coding and documentation processes.
