This is an exciting time to join Black Cat Syndicate Limited. With production underway at Paulsens and Kal East, a robust project pipeline and rapid exploration across our tenements the Company has a clear vision of sustainable multi-operation gold production.
In line with our ‘more gold, sooner’ strategy and our plans to re-optimise and accelerate mining and processing to > 1.2Mtpa we are seeking a Maintenance Superintendent – Fixed Plant to ensure reduced downtime and increased plant reliability at our Lakewood Processing Plant at our Kal East Gold Operation.
The position is FIFO from Perth or residential from Kalgoorlie on 8 days on, 6 days off roster. Lakewood is ~6km from Kalgoorlie with our mining operations located within a 40km radius of the centralised processing facility.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Processing Manager you will lead the maintenance team to ensure the Lakewood Processing Plant and associated infrastructure operates at maximum efficiency to meet production targets through the following:
• Effectively managing risk, and the health, safety and wellbeing of team members.
• Developing and ensuring effective use of the maintenance system (Pronto) to plan and control workflow and maintain accurate records for compliance and equipment history.
• Monitoring and coaching of team on the key metric drivers to ensure fixed plant asset performance is monitored, with processes are in place to identify and drive improvement opportunities and eliminate defects.
• Ensuring the creation and continuous review of rolling maintenance plans and schedules that support both maintenance and production requirements.
• Managing spare parts inventory and maintaining effective procurement processes.
• Developing maintenance budgets and forecasts, ensuring effective control of maintenance related costs.
About You
Key to success will be solid analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with a collaborative attitude, and ability to be a visible, caring and engaged leader. Additionally, you need to have the following:
• Trade certificate in mechanical and/or electrical related discipline, with a comprehensive understanding of all aspects and strong experience in a gold processing environment.
• Strong maintenance and asset management experience in small to medium scale processing plants.
• Ability to interpret Engineering drawings, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals, and standards.
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of a Computerised Maintenance Management System (“CMMS”), preferably Pronto.
• Proven ability to mentor, develop and lead a diverse team.
• Experience in operational budgets, and cost management.
• Strong understanding of safety, environmental regulations, and compliance standards.
Experience working for a similarly sized company and/or an understanding of limitations and constraints and a requirement to be hands on, that provides challenges and opportunities, whilst growing a junior company is desirable.
