About the Department for Correctional Services

The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. Duties

The Senior Procurement Advisor is accountable to the Manager Strategic Procurement & Contract Management for the provision of high level comprehensive procurement services including:

  • Ensuring value for money procurement outcomes and quality management of the acquisition planning, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and contract management processes across the Department.
  • Providing expert procurement advisory services to the Department including senior managers and employees on a range of complex & critical procurement projects;
  • Contributing to the development, implementation, maintenance and review of procurement policies, systems and practices;

Liaising with key stakeholders and providers to establish and maintain sound business relationships.

Special Conditions

  • Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
  • The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;
  • A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is essential;
  • A flexible approach to working hours is required;
  • Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

Requirements

Desirable Qualifications: Appropriate Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, procurement or related disciplines.

Remuneration

ASO5 ($85,790 - $95,413)
