Preadmission Services is a dynamic department responsible for the planning and preparation of patients having Elective Surgery at West Gippsland Healthcare Group. The Surgical Liaison Nurse will work to facilitate elective surgery throughput by ensuring that patients referred onto the West Gippsland Healthcare Group Elective Surgery Waiting List are managed in an efficient and patient focused manner in accordance with the principles in the Department of Health (DoH) Elective Surgery Access Policy (ESAP) 2015 and relevant West Gippsland Healthcare Group Elective Surgery Policies.
We are looking for motivated, experienced and skilled nurses with the following knowledge & skills to join the team.

A Registered Nurse – holding a current Registration Certificate as required by AHPRA

Previous Perioperative and/or Surgical Services experience

Ability to make sound clinical and patient management decisions

Proficiency with iPM (Inpatient Management System) & VINAH is highly desirable

Advanced data management / data analysis & computer skills
-
Understanding of the Elective Surgery Access Policy 2015 (ESAP) and the National Elective Surgery Targets (NEST)

Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal

Excellent organizational skills and great time management

Commitment to the provision of quality customer service

An ability to work responsibly under pressure and prioritise work demands as part of a team or independently.

All employees must hold current entitlement to work within Australia. A six month probationary period applies to all new appointments.
IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) may be required prior to commencement.
