About the role
The Role
The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation Gift in Will (GIW) program aims to promote and solicit Gift in Wills to our donors and the wider community, effectively steward already committed donors and coordinate the administration of realised Estates. The program generates significant income for the RCH Foundation and is a focus of the current strategic plan and growth agenda. The Gift in Wills and Estates Coordinator is responsible for soliciting and stewarding Gift in Wills donors and prospects, providing highest levels of donor care and providing end-to-end administration support for estates. The role will provide superior administration support in the management of Estates and Endowments, assist in the implementation of the GIW strategy, manage a portfolio of donors, seek out opportunities with Philanthropy team to co-manage and steward major donors/confirmed GIW donors and assist to coordinate key stewardship activities and events.
About You
- You are purpose driven and committed to the mission and values of the RCH Foundation
- You have a minimum of two years’ experience working as a fundraising and philanthropy professional, with experience in GIW and working with executors and managing Estate administration, in particular contested Estates
- You have demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality at all times
- You are familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and customer/donor management database software, ideally SalesForce
- You have excellent administration skills
- You are confident in your work, but know when and how to consult others to keep work moving, to achieve the best results and to avoid risk
- You have a commitment to personal development
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate with solicitors, executors, and legal teams regarding estates, in particular complex estates
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, displaying a mature, ethical and professional manner
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of people, including solicitors and executors
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Demonstrated strong numerical, analytical, and reporting skills
- Demonstrated time management, organisational and planning skills, with the ability to be flexible, adapt to varying workloads and to effectively manage multiple tasks
- Ability to effectively prioritise and maintain excellent attention to detail at all times
- Demonstrated ability to take a forensic approach to donor research, in particular donor research for contested Estates
- An understanding of the Family Provision Law
