This opportunity is all about keeping operations running safely and efficiently, from guiding apprentices to overseeing maintenance and ensuring compliance, your leadership will make a real difference every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Oversee daily workshop operations, job scheduling, and labour/resource coordination
  • Lead and motivate a team of mechanics, technicians and support staff
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance, servicing and repairs of fleet assets
  • Maintain and manage equipment registers, service schedules, and compliance systems
  • Manage procurement, parts supply, and invoicing accuracy
  • Monitor progress on jobs, report delays, and communicate with site management
  • Support a culture of safety by running toolbox talks, pre-start meetings, and task observations
  • Oversee technical training, inspections, and equipment testing
  • Ensure all safety, environmental, and company policies are followed
  • Continuously improve workshop efficiency and cost-effectiveness without compromising safety or quality

What You’ll Bring

  • Trade qualification in Mechanics, Diesel Fitting or Diesel Mechanic
  • Valid QLD Driver’s Licence and Construction White Card
  • Strong people leadership and communication skills
  • Experience managing workshop operations and or fleet maintenance team including job flow, safety, and compliance
  • Solid understanding of asset management and equipment maintenance systems
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive, safety-first workplace culture
  • Certifications in First Aid, CPR, Fire Warden, Spill Response, and Load/Unload Equipment (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly for maintaining registers and workshop records
