As the Engagement and Retention Officer, you will be the first point of contact for all clients at SuniTAFE’s Skills & Jobs Centre. Your role will involve providing preliminary information and referral services based on client needs assessments. You will also perform general administrative tasks, meet with clients and students via appointments, and report on performance data. Additionally, you will work closely with other customer service operations as required.
Your responsibilities will include:

Promoting and communicating access to Institute services that support the student experience.

Ensuring early intervention where there is a possibility of course withdrawal.

Identifying early signs of disengagement and taking responsive actions.

Providing detailed reporting of withdrawal data and monitoring student attendance.

Assisting teaching staff to ensure early intervention for at-risk students.

Coordinating and attending events within the community, industry, and secondary schools to provide information and guidance to potential students while representing SuniTAFE in a professional manner.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you should have:
-
A Certificate IV level qualification in Career Development and/or a willingness to obtain it, or a suitable combination of lesser qualifications and significant relevant experience.

Demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise with a diverse cohort of stakeholders.

Knowledge of the VET sector and SuniTAFE policies and procedures.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prepare written reports, case studies, and analyse data.

A customer service focus with the ability to take initiative to resolve problems and issues within the bounds of delegated authority.
The successful candidate will be required to provide:

A successful criminal record check which is less than 6 months old; and
-
A working with children check
