The Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is a Victorian Government statutory authority whose role is to work with and support natural resource management agencies, Traditional Owners and local communities to improve sustainable land use, biodiversity and water resources management extending from Ballarat south through the Western District Lakes and Victorian Volcanic Plains including Colac and Geelong, through the Otway Ranges to the coast along the Great Ocean Road.

About the opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced person to join our Riparian and Water Infrastructure team. As a Project Officer you will deliver a range of waterway health projects and programs that will support delivery of the Corangamite Waterway Strategy, with a focus on working with landholders to assess, plan and manage waterway restoration projects on private land and along crown frontages.

The role is full time permanent with a mix of office and field work. We offer flexible work arrangements and support working from home in combination with working from our main office in Colac and secondary office in Geelong.

Remuneration for the role is $82,313 – 93,893 per annum depending on experience plus superannuation.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience working in waterway management, natural resource management, environmental management, conservation projects or programs and a relevant diploma or degree qualification or significant relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering projects and using knowledge, skills and implementation capabilities to achieve on ground outcomes, with experience in delivering waterway health or land management projects desirable.

  • High level interpersonal, engagement and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with private landholders, community groups, government agencies, research institutions and other key stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative to solve problems.

  • Good written communication skills including the ability to prepare professional business correspondence and reports with attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive organisation culture.

  • Demonstrated ability to model the CCMA’s Approach and the Victorian Public Sector values and behaviours.

  • Current Victorian drivers licence.
