Description:
Our client is a highly reputable company providing equipment and maintenance services to the mining industry. Due to growth we, we’re seeking a Long Term Planner (Mining Assets) to join the team in this newly created position. Within this role you will be responsible for leading the medium to long term operational planning framework to improve efficiency of maintenance supply, forward planning maintenance activities and capital projections.
The role:
- Manage the long term planning of assets based on maintenance cycle
- Lead the annual strategic planning process
- Manage capital planning and forecasting
- Measure and track performance against the plan and present results to the team
- Coordinate and manage the quarterly annual safety and Operational meetings
- Develop and implement external workshop supplier strategy to ensure needs are met
- Partner with the Commercial team to ensure alignment of capital projections and commercial strategy
- Work with Supply Chain team to manage inventory strategy for parts requirements
What we’re looking for:
- Asset Management / Mechanical Engineering / Project Management Qualifications (desirable)
- Experience in a similar planning role (mining and machinery focus preferred)
- Strong experience in planning within a capital-intensive industry, preferably mining
- Experience with holistic asset management, whole of life cycle costing and integration into maintenance planning
- Strong problem solving skills with attention to detail
- Critical thinking and well developed decision making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Strong computer literacy
- Strong collaboration and teamwork to deliver business outcomes working across teams
- Use of planning tools to evaluate scenarios and build the forward plan
- Management of risk and opportunities
- Current driver’s license.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with a high level of competence in general computer skills.
- Good communication skills
