Maitland Hospital's Orthopaedic Department, part of Hunter New England Health in New South Wales, Australia, offers a comprehensive range of services for musculoskeletal conditions. These services include joint replacements, fracture management, arthroscopic procedures, and treatment for sports injuries. The department is staffed by experienced orthopaedic surgeons, nurses, and allied health professionals who collaborate to provide patient-centred care. They also focus on rehabilitation programs to aid patients in their recovery and return to daily activities.
About the Role:
- Provision of a consistent generalist medical service to patients of Maitland Hospital, coordination of clinical management of patients consistent with the plans of the Admitting Medical Officer and improvement in the continuity of care within name of service or facility and between the hospital and community.
- To provide effective clinical management of orthopaedic patients presenting or admitted to the Maitland hospital, under appropriate supervision, whilst developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified medical practitioner registered in Australia with at least five years post-graduate experience and appropriate AOA training and experience to undertake: independent work, with remote supervision, as a medical officer with demonstrated competence in Orthopaedics and experience in operating theatre and a demonstrated commitment to a career in Orthopaedics.
- High level skills and involvement in clinical care, supervision, mentoring and teaching. Able to exercise a moderate degree of professional independence.
