About the position
Following an exciting internal promotion, we’re on the lookout for a new People and Culture Manager to join our vibrant and dedicated statewide team.

The position is responsible for the operational delivery of HR services and support to staff. The P&C Manager will work with Managers to identify, assist in the development and lead in the implementation of solutions across a range of HR functions including, managing of performance, change and organisational restructuring, employee relations and organisational development.
More about the role:
Based in Hobart, the People and Culture Manager reports to the Head of People and Culture and has six direct reports. Key elements of the role include:
- Lead and manage Human Resources functions including attraction and retention, onboarding, employee relations and compliance
- Implement and sustain performance management and disciplinary processes that are aligned with contemporary practices and fully compliant with Australian employment legislation
- Provide a consultancy and advisory service to managers and staff on HR management policies and procedures
- Key contact point for employee concerns, grievances and conflict resolution
- Develop and implement end-to-end recruitment processes
- Provide expert advice to the Managers regarding recruitment and selection plans and initiatives, and ensure recruitment policy and procedure are meeting organisation and legislative needs
- Provide advice to managers regarding disciplinary, performance and grievance issues, and termination processes ensure supporting policy and procedures meet industrial relations legislative and organisational requirements
- Conduct regular HR analysis and audits against the strengthen aged care standards and industry expectations, compiling reports as needed to inform decision making
- Assist the Head of People and Culture in the negotiation of Workplace Agreements and lead in their implementation in accordance with legislations
What you bring to the role:
Essential
- Qualifications and/or proven experience in Human Resource Management or related field
- Significant experience in a senior human resources role, and preferably with IR experience
- Ability to engage and develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across all levels
- Excellent communication, mediation and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyse, problem solve and negotiate solution
- Awareness of payroll structures and processes including award conditions
- Commitment to integrity, fairness and transparency in HR practices
- Driver’s License (some intrastate travel is required)
- Experience in negotiating and implementing Enterprise Agreements is desirable
- Strong ICT skills, with proficiency in HR systems and reporting tools
- A working knowledge of Aged Care and its unique principles
