Description:
The Fleurieu Milk Company Is looking for a Procurement Officer.
As an experienced Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Category Plans for Packaging. You will manage sourcing strategies to deliver the highest levels of product, quality, and service for the business, including business continuity plans, secondary sources of supply and warehouse management.
The Procurement Officer supports the business as a strategic, value adding function working to optimise the supply of goods and services whilst managing potential risks. You will be part of a larger Administration team who are passionate about the company and the industry, who are engaged and respected by the business and who strive for excellence in their role.
Required Skills:

Direct (Packaging, Ingredients) procurement experience, ideally in a large, complex organisation

Prior experience managing categories specific to FMCG will be highly regarded, as will general manufacturing/warehouse experience

Strong commercial acumen with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

A customer centric approach with the ability to effectively manage vendor relationships

Capacity to negotiate, identify risks and apply relevant market intelligence to make decisions

A solid understanding of procurement methodology

Prior exposure to procurement software

Tertiary qualification in Business or related field (desirable).
Responsibilities:

Build category strategies for assigned materials or services at competitive prices and ensuring the needs of internal customers are met.

Ensure all reorder timeframes are met

Oversee activities related to the procurement of all dairy processing items
-
Review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.

Create and maintain relationships with internal customers and external suppliers.

Recruit and maintain suppliers that provide high quality products and services at competitive prices while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.

Review and resolve vendor claims and contracts in conformance to company policy.

Deliver an accurate weekly/monthly material forecasts and stock take

Plan and manage procurement processes.

negotiate supplier arrangements.

Provide expert procurement advice and insights.

Identify, manage, and mitigate procurement risks.

Manage and control all incoming and outgoing warehouse stock

Utility agreements – Gas and electricity
