The Paspaley Pearls Group was founded in 1952 and is now a diverse assembly of companies. Reporting to the QHSE Systems Manager, Paspaley is seeking a highly organised and self-motivated Workers Compensation Claims / WHS Administration Officer. Ideally you will be able to work autonomously and as part of an energetic team, have an exceptional eye for the details and the ability to accurately keep records. We want you to own the workers’ compensation Return - to - Work portfolio and at the same time, you will be required to play an important role in assisting the QHSE Systems Manager with administration and other WHS matters.
Key Tasks:

Be the first point of contact to receive all of the Group’s employee workers compensation claims and then managing this process from lodgment to closure.

Process and maintain accurate records of the Group’s workers’ compensation claims and WHS matters.

Ensure claims are compliant with relevant legislative and regulatory obligations.

Liaise with the relevant key stakeholders in delivering on early injury intervention, rehabilitation management and return to work objectives.

Work closely with Business Unit management to deliver best practice, cost effective injury and claims management.

Communicate and correspond with the employee, insurer and nominated treating medical practitioners throughout a workers claim and return-to-work plan.

Communicate with payroll to ensure employees who are on workers compensation are paid accurately.

Receive, record, process and administer the record keeping of incident reports and Corrective Actions Register.

Assist with the upkeep of QHSE records and systems and support the drafting and reviewing of documents whilst ensuring effective document control.

Facilitate the Corporate Safety Committee meetings and WHS Safety Awards

Assistance with WHS reporting as required.

Assist the QHSE Systems Manager in coordinating education, induction, and training.
Althoug not absolutely essential, it would be considered highly advantageous if the successful candidate has a broad knowledge of WHS, workers compensation claims and injury management and Return – to – Work planning or has worked in a similar role.
What is essential, is that you have the ability to effectively lead the coordination of early intervention strategies, return – to - work and workers compensation claims management processes. You achieve this by having excellent people, communication, written, and networking skills, and by utilising a person-centred approach to customer service and people management. You must have the personality to deal with sensitive and confidential information and be capable of being flexible to adapt to sudden changes or circumstances or to be firm when need be.
The successful candidate will be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with full rights to work and reside in Australia.
