Role Overview
As a Security Trainer for Certificate II in Security Operations, you are responsible for delivering high-quality security training programs and assessment. This role will possess in-depth knowledge of security practices, the ability to guide students through fundamental skills and knowledge required to pursue a successful career in the security industry.

Training Delivery
- Deliver interactive and engaging security training sessions that capture the attention of the participants.
- Employ clear, accessible language and communication strategies to ensure that all participants understand the material.
- Lead hands-on practice sessions where participants can apply security skills in simulated scenarios.
- Demonstrate and guide participants in using adaptive conflict de-escalation techniques and other tools effectively.
- Create and facilitate role-playing exercises and case studies tailored to the specific challenges faced by the participants. Ensure these scenarios cover a range of emergency situations to provide a comprehensive learning experience.
- Provide ongoing support and resources to participants, such as access to additional materials, reference guides, and contact information for follow-up questions.
- Ensure that participants feel confident and capable of applying their new skills in their roles.
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
Compliance and Governance
- Ensure that the training curriculum reflects these practices and is aligned with current standards from authoritative organisations.
- Ensure that the training program complies with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Ensure that all team members adhere to organisational policies, health and safety regulations, and best practices.
- Provide guidance on compliance and monitor adherence to these standards.
Administrative
- Maintain accurate records of all training activities, including participant attendance, assessment results, and issue certification achievements.
- Ensure that records are up-to-date and securely stored.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on training activities, including participant statistics, meaningful feedback summaries, and performance outcomes.
- Analyse data to evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure that all required compliance and regulatory reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Manage the procurement and inventory of training materials and resources. Ensure that all necessary materials are available and in good condition for training sessions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding training arrangements, feedback, and inquiries. Address any issues or concerns in a professional and timely manner.

- Promptly respond to and report health and safety hazards, incidents and near misses via our Work Health and Safety systems.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential experience and qualifications
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or an equivalent qualification
- Certificate II in Security Operations
- Current CPR/First Aid qualifications
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- High level of computer literacy, demonstrated experience with software products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively within a team environment
- Ability to communicate with a diverse range of people
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to maintain a pleasant and friendly working manner
- Excellent time management skills and a high degree of flexibility
- Adhere to and comply with Xanadu Group processes and procedures using appropriate systems when required
Desirable
- Proven experience as a security instructor or trainer, with a strong background in delivering accessible and inclusive training.
- In-depth knowledge of security procedures, emergency response, and best practices for working with individuals.
- Experience in motivating a team, with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
