About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and physically capable Mines Rescue Trainer to join our team on a part-time or contract basis in a FIFO (Fly-In-Fly-Out) capacity . This crucial role delivers and assesses emergency response training programs for mining personnel, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Working FIFO to client sites (including remote and underground locations), you will lead both classroom and field-based sessions, including simulated emergency scenarios. This role is key to supporting safety, capability, and compliance across mine sites.
Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver accredited emergency response and rescue training programs in line with national and state requirements
• Facilitate simulated training scenarios including fires, entrapments, hazardous materials, and medical emergencies
• Assess participants against competency standards and issue certifications
• Maintain accurate records and support trainee improvement plans
• Operate, inspect, and maintain rescue and breathing apparatus equipment
• Participate in site drills, audits, and emergency response reviews
• Provide safety guidance and promote a culture of continuous improvement
• Travel on a FIFO basis to client mine sites (surface and underground)

Qualifications and Experience:

• Essential :
  
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)
  • Current First Aid and CPR (advanced responder preferred)
  • Proven experience in surface or underground mining environments
  • Operational or supervisory experience in Mines Rescue
• Desirable :
  
  • Firefighting, HAZMAT, confined space, vertical or underground rescue qualifications
  • Experience with training management systems and compliance
  • Exposure to vehicle extrication or defensive driving training

Key Skills:

• Sound knowledge of emergency response procedures and legislation
• Strong facilitation and communication skills
• High physical fitness to actively participate in demanding rescue scenarios
• Ability to work in both classroom and high-risk site environments
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Willingness and ability to work FIFO to remote locations
