We are Australia's National Vocational Education and Training (VET) regulator.
What we do
We regulate providers that deliver VET qualifications and courses to students in Australia or offer Australian qualifications internationally, providers that deliver VET courses to overseas students, and certain providers that deliver English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students. We also accredit VET courses to make sure nationally approved standards are met.

The key duties of the position include
We are seeking Finance Officers who will be responsible for the preparation of statutory, regulatory and ad hoc reports. In addition to this, key responsibilities include:
  • responsibility for meeting statutory reporting obligations such as BAS and FBT
  • managing payment runs and treasury
  • responsibility for month end tasks including accruals and prepayments
  • reconciling general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • assisting with the travel function
  • assisting with the audits and preparation of the financial statements
  • drafting and/or assisting with reports for the Executive Committee
  • responding to queries from both internal and external stakeholders
  • drafting new policy and procedures or revising/updating existing policy and procedures
  • identification of appropriate process and system improvements
  • liaising with ASQA staff relating to processes, policies, and system development; and
  • any other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • a demonstrated ability in financial accounting and reporting areas
  • demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise workloads to achieve a high level of customer service
  • highly developed communication skills including a demonstrated ability to effectively deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders and a demonstrated ability to negotiate to achieve good organisational outcomes
  • a demonstrated history of working collegiately as a member of a team including experience effectively contributing to planning activities and the development of strategy.
