The Opportunity
This is an opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper with a mix of finance and payroll experience to join an organisation that inspires the next generation of problem solvers and celebrates the beauty of mathematics.
You’ll have the opportunity to work under an experienced Finance Manager in a small, collaborative team environment where the atmosphere is relaxed but professional.
Whilst this is a full-time opportunity, AMT have a mature approach to work life balance and recognises that flexible working arrangements are important. Please note that the successful candidate will still need to be located in Canberra.
The Role
As the Senior Finance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial processing, as well as performing all payroll functions. Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and process fortnightly payroll
- Processing end-of-month, including the reconciliation of General Ledger accounts, manual journals, and making sure all invoices are entered and allocated correctly
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable
- Assist in the preparation of BAS, PAYG, and any other tax obligations
- Update team policies and procedures with direction from the Finance Manager
- Provide guidance and support to other departments on financial matters
You’re a bookkeeper with ideally 5 years of experience, known for your meticulous attention to detail and pride in delivering accurate work. You might be coming from a bookkeeping role at a firm, where you’ve supported multiple clients across finance and payroll functions, or from a commercial or not-for-profit organisation. You could also be a payroll specialist eager to broaden your skill set across finance.
Alongside your technical skills, you will also have a positive and pragmatic approach to your work where you love to solve problems and enjoy supporting the business to achieve success.
A Certificate IV in Bookkeeping will be highly regarded but not essential.
Salary / Rate
- $90k - $110k + Super
- Free on-site parking available
