About the Department
The role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives. It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.
About the Division
The Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) is responsible for supporting one of the largest technology networks in Victoria and leading the department's technology, digital capability, business systems and digital transformation. This network consists of Schools, Corporate and Early Childhood Education (ECE) including a school user base of more than 1500 Government schools, 50,000 teachers and 650,000 students.
IMTD applies agile practices with a focus on user experience, security, integration, and designs and delivers solutions on the department's cloud infrastructure services (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS) and software services (SaaS).
In this division, there are nine branches:
* Office of the Chief Information Officer
* School Digital Services
* Corporate Digital Services
* Early Childhood Education Digital Services
* Information Security Services
* Information Services
* Information Technology Services
* Digital Design and Innovation Services
* Business Services.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Manager, Data Governance and Analytics Systems to lead our Data Governance function and champion the adoption of our data and analytics platform. In this role, you will be responsible for fostering strong communication and collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups, both internal and external, while ensuring alignment between business needs and data platform capabilities.
You will work closely with business teams to understand their goals, translate those into actionable data strategies, and shape platform requirements that support enterprise-wide objectives. Your ability to connect data governance practices with real business value will be key to driving platform demand and delivering meaningful outcomes.
This role demands a balance of strategic insight, effective communication, and a strong understanding of data, analytics, and business operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing complex stakeholder landscapes, balancing competing priorities, and consistently driving results that support organizational growth and innovation.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: Bachelor's degree in information technology and related discipline.
* Proven experience (10+ years) in data governance, data management, or related fields.
* Strong understanding of data governance principles, practices, and framework
