Hours per fortnight

Up to 73.5 hours - flexible options available.

Duties
  1. Manage the provision of efficient and effective budget systems and data services, including the following key annual processes:
  1. Provide high level support to the preparation of the department's annual budget by coordinating the annual Enterprise Budget module processes;
  2. Develop, implement and maintain systems and procedures to ensure that the Department’s budget is managed within approved allocations and to comply with legislative requirements; and
  3. Co-ordinate annual salary budget formulation, including liaising with the other areas of the department and government agencies on budget formulation and monitoring issues.
  1. Oversee the maintenance and development of budget systems and associated integrations or interfacing with other systems and processes, including the reconciliation of the Treasury Budget Information Management System.
  2. Collaborate to provide high level support to the provision of resourcing and budget advice for key departmental initiatives and for key stakeholders.
  3. Provide operational supervision of and direction to the Financial Systems team members contributing to the budget systems and data services deliverables.
  4. Manage the Department’s Chart of Accounts to effectively support financial management strategies and requirements.
  5. Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies, policies, guidelines and standards relevant to the effective and efficient management of the department's budget and operation of the department’s budget systems, including managing projects either alone or as a project team leader.
  6. Manage and undertake complex analysis and investigation into budget systems and data services and provide high level advice to senior management, including identifying areas of opportunity and need, together with recommending and managing the implementation of solutions.
  7. The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.
Desirable Requirements

Appropriate Tertiary qualifications or substantial progress towards such a qualification and membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body.
