About The RoleThe Principal Project Manager will lead the project management office for the Mental Health and Wellbeing Client Management System (MHWCMS) implementation project. This role is pivotal for ensuring effective project governance, strategic alignment, and the timely delivery of high-quality outcomes across a complex and high-impact initiative.
The position is responsible for driving critical project operations through expert management of project governance, planning and scheduling, contract and financial oversight, stakeholder engagement, and the tracking of key deliverables

About You
This role requires a proactive and experienced project management professional with a strong sense of ownership, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to manage complex projects with a focus on governance, performance reporting, and continuous improvement.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Can
- Provide expert leadership and oversight across project management and coordination functions to support successful delivery of project outcomes.
- Maintain and document comprehensive project plans, including risk and issue registers, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation, government regulations, and departmental frameworks.
- Develop and manage complex budgets; negotiate for resources; monitor expenditure against budget projections; plan for and manages risks; ensure the use of honest, transparent and appropriate purchasing processes.
- Provide professional leadership and guidance.
- Prepare and present high-quality project documentation, reports, briefings, and presentations tailored to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Prior project management in large scale digital or IT initiatives, ideally involving mental health and/or the Victorian public health services.
