Description:
Mine Planning and Design:
• Short-Term and Medium-Term Planning: Developing detailed mine plans and schedules for production and development activities, typically spanning from weekly to annual horizons. This includes defining mining sequences, stope designs, and ventilation requirements.
• Mine Design: Designing and optimizing underground layouts, including access development (drives, ramps, shafts), ventilation circuits, ore handling systems, and other necessary infrastructure.
• Stope Optimization: Designing and optimizing stope shapes and extraction methods to maximize ore recovery, minimize dilution, and ensure stability.
• Drill and Blast Design: Developing and reviewing drill and blast patterns to achieve efficient rock fragmentation while adhering to safety regulations and minimizing costs.
• Backfill Design and Management: Planning and overseeing backfilling operations to provide ground support, improve stability, and manage waste.
Operational Support and Improvement:
• Mine Optimization: Continuously seeking and implementing opportunities to optimize mining methods, reduce costs, improve productivity, and enhance safety.
• Troubleshooting: Investigating and resolving technical issues and operational challenges that arise in the underground environment.
• Grade Control: Collaborating with geologists to ensure effective grade control practices are implemented to maximize the economic value of the extracted ore.
Safety and Compliance:
• Safety Management: Actively promoting and ensuring adherence to the mine's safety standards, procedures, and regulations. This includes participating in risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that all mine planning and operational activities comply with relevant mining legislation, environmental regulations, and permit conditions.
