Description:
Grade Control and Production Geology:
• Detailed Orebody Interpretation: Developing and maintaining detailed geological models of the orebody, including structural controls, alteration patterns, and mineralization styles, based on drilling data, mapping, and sampling.
• Grade Control Planning and Implementation: Designing and overseeing grade control programs, including infill drilling, chip sampling, face mapping, and ore marking, to accurately define ore boundaries and minimize dilution.
• Reconciliation: Regularly comparing predicted grades and tonnages with actual production to identify discrepancies and improve geological models and grade control practices.
• Liaison with Mining Operations: Collaborating closely with mining engineers, surveyors, and production supervisors to ensure effective ore extraction and adherence to grade control plans.
Exploration and Resource Development:
• Exploration Program Design and Management: Planning, designing, and managing near-mine exploration programs to identify and delineate new ore resources. This includes drill hole planning, logging protocols, sampling procedures, and QA/QC.
• Geological Data Management: Overseeing the collection, storage, and management of geological data, including drill logs, assays, mapping data, and structural measurements, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
Team Leadership and Mentorship:
• Supervision of Junior Geologists and Technicians: Mentoring, training, and supervising junior geological staff, providing technical guidance and support.
• Team Collaboration: Working effectively within the geology department and collaborating with other departments (mining, engineering, environment, etc.).
