Description:
- VC fund with top-quartile performance for over a decade
- Opportunity to build a brand and lead an active investment mandate
- Thoughtful, innovative and intellectually curious culture
Our client is a high-performing Venture Capital firm investing in and being long term partners to founders and businesses in advanced technology across the ANZ region. The firm has a uniquely rigorous and disciplined investment style that has allowed it to perform in the top quartile for all of its funds globally. The firm has had a successful start to the year having recently deployed a significant portion of capital, with plenty still to be deployed, along with the near completion of a fundraise that will allow the team to continue to invest in and partner with high-potential Founders and their businesses. With this in mind, they are looking to hire an Investment Principal to join the team based in Sydney.
The Investment Principal will be an intellectually curious and meticulous investment professional who also wants to play a critical leadership role in an established and successful VC fund. Key responsibilities will include:
- Sourcing quality investments and leads whilst developing a clear sense and instinct around what makes a “good” investment for the firm’s broader mandate
- Ownership and management of end-to-end investment processes, including the undertaking of due diligence and management of commercial negotiations
- Continually lead the development and enhancement of the firm’s own investment recommendation and execution processes
- Active engagement with portfolio companies and founders, including potential board seats, with the view of assisting the companies’ longer-term success and growth
Successful candidates will have a genuine interest in technology and a clear intellectual curiosity in relation to investing and participating in the growth of this space. Through time spent and experience in a relevant space/sectors, the candidate will not only have the requisite financial modelling and analysis skills but will also have a knack for identifying key insights and strategic opportunities when it comes to new investment opportunities and adding value to the existing portfolio. Working in Venture Capital, particularly with a Fund that has enjoyed the success our client has, also requires an individual that is comfortable working within a certain degree of uncertainty and enjoys the hustle, growth mindset and pace that comes with investing in high-growth and high-potential businesses.
Applicants must have full working rights for Australia in place to be considered for the opportunity.
