Based at our state of the art manufacturing facility at Banyo, the role of the Maintenance Fitter – Afternoon shift is to support the maintenance and production teams by providing quality and efficient maintenance services during planned maintenance, breakdowns, reliability and the deployment of new plant and machinery. You will be challenged and no two days are ever the same in this role.
The role:
- Maintaining, control and diagnosing FMCG machinery such as high-speed fillers, mixers, conveyors, sensors, hydraulics, robotic machinery and packaging machines.
- Troubleshooting mechanical faults, production breakdowns, production start-ups and operating setting using hydraulic & pneumatics
- Planned maintenance and using systems such as MEX
- Working with steam and/or gas appliances, preferred by not essential
- Identifying and participating in continuous improvement initiatives and projects
- Stable set roster - Afternoon shift (1:00PM – 9:06PM) with the possibility of overtime on alternating weekends
About you:
- Relevant trade qualification
- At least 5 years' experience as a Maintenance Fitter working in a 24/7 FCMG environment
- Experience in the areas of planned maintenance systems (MEX)
- Steam or gas appliance experience preferred, but not essential
- Familiarity with automation and reliability focus
- Confined Space, Working at Heights and EWP certification would be advantageous
- Excellent communication skills
- Show a great deal of initiative and be a strong advocate of team work
