About the role
As the Design Lead, you will report to the National Manager Engineering, and provide; technical leadership, management expertise, engineering decision making and support, management of engineering design contracts, and project engineering management for the project.
Some Key Responsibilities include
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to provide effective, timely and accurate technical decision making and support to the wider project group
- Motivation and support of flexible and open-minded approaches to complex engineering problem solving
- Develop concept designs which are capable of delivering on Jemena’s project strategy, within the limitations imposed or instructions provided by Jemena Business Development
- Management of internal resources and external contractors to deliver concept design deliverables to the required deadlines
- Support appropriate governance oversight is completed on Major Projects to provide assurance that projects will be completed to approved Jemena policies, processes and systems and to the agreed performance criteria
- Ensure design works are completed to the milestone dates in the project schedule
About You
To be successful in the role, you will demonstrate significant leadership and technical management experience in a safety critical industry including credibility with safety regulators. Additionally, you will have;
- A Tertiary degree qualification in engineering
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the energy industry and utility infrastructure (gas, electricity, telecommunications, water) in particular
- Hands on experience in successful delivery of major multidisciplinary projects
- Demonstrated experience in planning, evaluating, directing, tracking, analysing and coordinating complex projects
- Sound Engineering Management experience in pipelines, facilities and compressor stations
