Are you an experienced event professional with a passion for crafting seamless event setups and delivering top-tier experiences? If so, the MECC is seeking skilled and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Functions Support Officers on a casual basis.

The Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre is the ultimate destination for world-class events. With state-of-the-art facilities, including a 1090-seat theatre, 100-seat studio space, two plenary halls accommodating up to 1800 guests, experimental theatre spaces, breakout rooms, and versatile front-of-house and backstage areas, the MECC is dedicated to excellence and innovation in every event it hosts.

About the Role:

As a Functions Support Officer, your expertise in event management will help ensure flawless event setups and outstanding experiences for clients and guests. You will play a vital role in preparing event spaces, coordinating with organisers, and maintaining the venue’s impeccable presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute precise event setups, including furniture, equipment, and technical configurations.
    Maintain the highest standards of venue presentation.
    Collaborate with organisers to guarantee smooth event operations.
    Provide exceptional customer service to clients and attendees.
    Uphold safety and security standards throughout the venue.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Current QLD Class C Driver's Licence.
    Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
    Proven experience in event setup, hospitality, or related fields.
    Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
    Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
    Ability to perform efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments.
    Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
