About the role

The Intake and Assessment Officer - Mabels & WELS will be a key member of ECLC's Family Violence Initiatives (FVI) Mabels/WELS Team, providing trauma-informed, client-focused intake services for the Mabels and WELS programs - including identifying priority clients and undertaking initial risk assessments and safety planning.

This role requires exceptional organisational and administrative skills, excellent written and oral skills, an understanding of data collection and management systems and analysis, and confidence in the use of ICT-based devices, applications and software. It also requires an understanding of trauma and the impact of family violence on women and children

About You

We are seeking an experienced, highly flexible, resourceful and self-motivated professional to provide a high quality, trauma-informed intake service for ECLC's Mabels and WELS Programs.

You will have demonstrated experience working effectively with vulnerable client groups and those with complex needs, have a commitment to the principles of equity, access and social justice, and have an awareness of the legal sector and appropriate referral pathways.

You will be a compassionate, warm and empathetic person, able to engage well with a diverse range of people, community groups and key agencies, and able to calmly work under pressure when there are competing work priorities. Ideally you also have legal database knowledge (eg: CLASS), and experience and skills in mental health first aid.

Specifically, you will have:

Relevant qualifications in administration, business, community services or similar
Minimum 2 years' experience in similar role, within the community and/or community legal sector
