The Opportunity

- Step into a hands-on role supporting the Cyber Operations Lead

The Role
- Cyber Security Operations & Threat Monitoring : Support security event monitoring, analysis and incident response, and assist in managing security tools to ensure effective threat detection
- Vendor & Service Management : Work with external security vendors, including Managed Detection and Response (MDR) providers, and oversee security reports and KPIs to ensure service quality aligns with business needs
- Identity & Access Security : Support identity and privileged access management (IAM/PAM) functions and assist in maintaining access controls and security policies
- Threat Intelligence & Risk Management : Assist in analysing threat intelligence and emerging cyber risks, and support security risk assessments to enhance proactive threat management
- Cyber Resilience & Compliance : Assist with Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities and ensure cybersecurity requirements align with compliance frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001, Essential Eight)
The Ideal Person
We’re looking for a pragmatic and experienced cybersecurity professional ready to make a real impact at Icon Water. With a tertiary qualification in IT / Cyber Security (or commensurate training), you’ll bring 5+ years of hands-on experience in security monitoring, incident response, and threat management.
You’ll have strong experience in a Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) or similar security-focused environment, working with SIEM platforms like Splunk and familiar with Microsoft security controls and frameworks such as NIST CSF and ISO 27001.
Given Icon Water’s small, collaborative team of 450 people, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to prioritise and innovate to achieve key outcomes. You’ll be someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, working effectively with outsourced ICT service providers, security vendors, and internal teams to protect critical infrastructure.
Salary / Rate
The salary band starts at $140,798 + 15% Super.
