The Opportunity
Icon Water is in the midst of a major transformation across technology and digital services—offering you the chance to step into a meaningful role where your work will have real impact. In this permanent ongoing position, you will:

• Own and manage vendor relationships, including contracts, licensing, and procurement

• Use your IT knowledge and planning skills to identify efficiencies and deliver practical outcomes

• Apply your commercial acumen to negotiate smarter deals and improve vendor performance

This role can be offered full-time or part-time (4 days per week), depending on your preference. You will work closely with a highly experienced Team Leader.

The Role
Key responsibilities for this role include:

• Procurement & Vendor Strategy: Develop high-quality procurement plans and assist in implementing Icon Water’s ICT vendor management strategy

• Vendor Relationship Management: Act as a key point of contact for new and existing vendors, building strong relationships and ensuring effective communication between vendors and internal teams

• Contract Negotiation & Performance: Lead contract negotiations to achieve value-for-money outcomes, monitor vendor performance, and recommend renewals, extensions, or terminations based on contractual deliverables

• Governance & Risk Management: Maintain vendor compliance with policies, regulations, and security standards, conduct due diligence tasks, and help mitigate risks in vendor engagements

• Data & Spend Visibility: Support the creation of a centralised view of digital technology vendor spend, providing insights to stakeholders and identifying cost-saving opportunities

The Ideal Person
You’re commercially minded, organised, and comfortable operating in the tech space, whether you’ve come from a customer-facing organisation or a managed services provider.
With a background in the IT field and around 3+ years of experience in vendor or commercial management, you understand how to engage vendors effectively and keep things running smoothly. You’ve worked in complex, dynamic environments where juggling contracts, compliance, and communication is part of the day-to-day and you do it well.
You’re confident navigating contractual and commercial relationships, and you know how to spot opportunities to improve vendor value and service. Most importantly, you're a team player who enjoys working in a collaborative, down-to-earth environment where everyone contributes.
Salary / Rate
The salary band starts at $115,479 + 15% Super.
