An exciting opportunity exists for Senior Speech Language Pathologists (Clinical) in Metropolitan South Region. As a Senior Speech Language Pathologist (Clinical) with Early Years Connect, you will connect and build relationships with regional, school and health teams to manage a multifaceted, dynamic workload. You will require excellent initiative, time management and a willingness to consider every aspect of your work through a cultural lens. You will work with the statewide Early Years Connect team, an enthusiastic group where collaboration and mutual support are highly valued, and where openness to learning and change is key to achieving results.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve walking with communities and schools to support:

Regional Capability
Strengthening partnerships with regional teams to inform school, region and system decision-making and improvement, particularly for schools in vulnerable communities with high First Nations enrolment.

School Capability
Supporting school teams to achieve positive hearing, oral language and literacy outcomes in the early years by embedding culturally responsive, strengths based and data informed differentiation across the curriculum.

Hearing Pathways
A partnership with Children's Health Queensland ensuring early identification of hearing loss, and addressing the significant impact of hearing loss on learning.

SLP Capability
Hands on, coaching support to promote culturally responsive, evidence informed assessment and support for early years students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds within a whole school approach.

A mandatory requirement of this role is :

  • A relevant degree in Speech Pathology from a recognised tertiary institution or qualifications which, in the opinion of the Director-General, Department of Education or delegate are acceptable and eligibility for certified practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 , registered health practitioners working within their professional capacity must hold valid registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency at all times during their employment for the purpose of satisfying the exemption requirements of the Act.
