About the Position:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Place Activation & Engagement Officer - Community and Sporting Groups to join the Shire of Broome team.

The Place Activation & Engagement Officer -Community and Sporting Groups will be responsible for facilitating and delivering a high stand of community development initiatives in with the Shire of Broome Strategic Community Plan.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to work positively within a small team environment and regional community with a ''can do'' approach
  • Demonstrated experience delivering community programs and events
  • Experience in development and implementation of sporting and community development initiatives.
  • Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with community groups
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills

Qualification and/or Training

  • Tertiary qualification in community development or similar field
  • Current C class driver's license
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Recent National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one

Desirable:

  • Experience in Local Government
  • Experience in preparation of reports and agenda items for Council and Committe meetings
